Tim, what do you think makes Expeditus stand out from other Logistics Companies?
I believe that we offer a truly unique service within the transport industry. As a company, we work particularly hard on tailoring our service to each of our individual customers. Furthermore, we shy away from the traditional high cost model of running our own fleet, which allows us to pass on the savings directly to our customers. This places Expeditus at the forefront of the logistics industry in terms of flexibility and price.
What would you say that Expeditus’ greatest recent achievement is?
I would first like to point out that each of our projects is as rewarding as the next. One that stands out however, is the project for a major international engineering company. We delivered over 800 tonnes of prefabricated steel, electrical panels and compressed air equipment that was involved in the production of a turnkey engineering project. All of our cargo was delivered on time and to the clients’ complete satisfaction.
Do you see the market in European Logistics changing?
Yes. The market is moving away from the traditional model of a fixed capacity company owned fleet towards a much more flexible model that makes use of spare capacity in the market. Our model drives out the traditional inefficiency in the market by harnessing the power of the internet. Everybody benefits, the operator, the environment and above all the customer.
What are the current trends?
In these difficult times, customers are looking for the apparently contradictory combination of increased service levels and reduced prices. The old model can deliver one or the other. To deliver what the client wants, and still make a profit, there has to be a change of model. Those customers who are prepared to look at the new and exciting developments in this market and steer their way between the expense of trusted brands and the perils of cowboy operators, can find the quality they need at the prices they are looking for.
How does the Expeditus model work?
We are happy to say that it is inherent in our model that we do not have the largest fleet or the biggest amount of warehouse storage space. However, what we offer is customised solutions, flexibility and value for money, all on a European scale.
